Where do I get Revell Model Aircraft paints in Delhi?

I purchased a few real life 1:144 scale models of a few Fighter Aircraft. These are the build-it-yourself models by Revell.

I wanted some help on the colors 2 be used on these aircraft.The instruction sheet specifies using plastic paint for coloring the parts of the planes. However plastic paints are not available at any toy shops or stationary shops in Delhi.

Can someone tell me if I can use fabricolors or do I specifically need only plastic paint for these models?

Also, could someone also tell me where in Delhi could I purchase a set of plastic paint kits, if available anywhere.

Fabricolors are most likely tints/stain/dye based colours so its useless as a paint. The plastic model paints you seek are pigment based and your best source is on-line hobby stores :

If you cannot obtain such paints on-line, the the next best thing is probably the hardware store since you cannot get such paints toy or stationery shops. Get the smallest tin/bottle/jar of paint possible - if they provide sample jars, they are usually the best. I recommend acrylic paints for interior walls.
You will probably have to buy some the primary colours - red, blue and yellow together with white and black and perform some customised mixing.

One tip with mixing - always mix a small amount of darker colour to a lighter main colour to adjust the lightness/darkness and not the other way around otherwise you will waste a lot of paint.

You may have to prepare the surface of the model so that the paint can stick to it by a gentle wash of water and dishwashing liquid to get rid of any moulding release agent still on the plastic.

An original size model of a corkwood chair was taken up 98.268 feet on an air-balloon and there it collapsed into little pieces. What an excellent way to advertise new LCD tv-sets and laptops!

At first glance there is nothing extraordinary. Everyone can do it, no? Have you ever tried sending a teddy bear or a Toy Aircraft to the stratosphere? However the trick is that not only the chair had to “fly” towards the unknown, but also be filmed with high resolution video camera from most advantageous positions.

The creators just couldn’t do without aeronautics experts. “The Rise” took 83 minutes, while the way back was much speedier – only 24 minutes. And the temperature on the way went down to -130°F, which is absolutely incredible for a flying chair to actually “survive” this low.. A special light frame construction made it possible to follow the Federal Aviation Agency regulation which allows the whole device to weigh no more than 4.14 pounds. 8 compact video cameras with resolution of 1920 x 1080 px were placed on this construction to film the chair. Also 4 independent gps systems were placed “on board”, they sent signals with balloon coordinates to the surface every 15 sec.

The chair is not just ANY object to send into space. In a way it is symbolic, because ironically the chair has become almost an indispensable attribute of every day life for millions and millions of people all over the world.
