Using a Keychain Laser Pointer - 3 Things You Should Never Do
You may be inclined to think that a keychain laser pointer is only for children, but it can also be a lot of fun as you impress your friends pointing to items far away. There are many different types available from those that can cost upwards of $1,000 which are used by engineers to low powered lasers that are simply used in presentations or business meetings. Before making the purchase of a keychain laser pointer, here are 3 things you must avoid at all costs.
1. Never look at the laser with your eyes
While this may seem like obvious advice, there is nothing comical about eye injuries which can result from looking directly at the laser for a long period of time. Many people simply do not know any better and will look at the laser test to determine how powerful it really is. However, just as you wouldn't point a weapon at your face, you shouldn't do the same with the laser device.
2. Do not aim the laser at other people
In addition to not looking correctly at the laser, be sure never to point a keychain laser pointer as you don't want to risk accidentally causing them eye injury. You wouldn't want other people to do the same to you to be sure to handle the laser device with care.
3. Do not point the laser at any aircraft
Chances are the laser pointer you purchase is not likely to reach that far in the sky but there are some high powered once that can. Pointing a laser at an aircraft can result in serious consequences as it is a federal offense.
A keychain later pointer is not only portable, but they are also very convenient and can be carried around with you wherever you go. Be sure to keep these 3 factors in mind and to most of all be careful when handling a laser device around children.
